BSD is a radar-based blind spot detection safety system, one of the most advanced in the world. It visually informs the driver of any cars or objects in the rear or side of the vehicle, including blind spots, while driving. If the driver activates their turn signal to overtake, the system will provide visual and audible warnings if the lane is occupied by a car with a higher speed. Using radar technology, BSD can quickly and accurately detect objects in blind spots, day or night, in any weather conditions.
Side accidents are a common occurrence caused by objects in blind spots. Blindspot is defined as an area around the vehicle obscured from drivers’ vision by the car’s body. Safety requirements for cars from recent years as required by crash testing (NCAP and similar) have forced car manufacturers to install support beams in the car which changed the shape of the car (width, length, and driver’s distance from the windshield, side windows, etc.). To this add the increase in engine compartment size and inner increased space of family/commercial vehicles. These changes have increased significantly the blind spots around the vehicle and increased the risk of accidents due to the inability of the driver to see all the areas around the car.
BAWARE blind spot detection system is the most advanced radar-based safety system in the world. During driving, the BSD alerts the system visually any time a vehicle or an object enters the blind spots around the vehicle. When the driver plans to overtake after activating the side indicator and the overtaking lane is occupied the system will warn the driver visually and audibly that the overtaking lane is occupied.
Radar technology (77 GHz) is in use by car manufacturers enabling quick and accurate identification of objects in all weather conditions day and night.
The BAWARE blind spot detection system is installed on the rear window of the vehicle, installation time is short and does not require dismantling the rear bumper. The system is suitable for all car models.
